WMF NZ: frequently asked questions

Where can I buy genuine WMF cookware and knives in New Zealand?

Michael Joyce is the official WMF store in New Zealand, with over 400 genuine WMF products online, including cookware, frying pans, pressure cookers, knives, cutlery, kitchen tools and barware. Order online at michaeljoyce.co.nz for delivery throughout New Zealand.

Is WMF cookware suitable for induction cooktops?

Most WMF pots, frying pans and pressure cookers, including the Fusiontec, Diadem Plus and Perfect ranges, work on induction as well as gas, electric and ceramic cooktops. Each product page on our NZ store lists its compatible heat sources, so check there before you buy.

What is WMF Cromargan stainless steel?

Cromargan is WMF's own name for its 18/10 stainless steel, made from 18% chromium and 10% nickel. It's rust resistant, food safe, keeps its shine and is easy to clean, which is why WMF uses it across its cookware and cutlery.

What is WMF Fusiontec cookware?

Fusiontec is WMF's mineral cookware: a steel core fused with a mineral-based ceramic coating. It heats evenly, holds heat for searing and slow cooking, is induction-ready and is made in Germany. Our NZ range includes Platinum, Red and Papaya.

Which WMF knife range should I choose?

For everyday cooking, the WMF Kineo range offers great value and comfort. Spitzenklasse Plus knives are forged for chefs who want a classic, balanced German knife. The premium WMF Yari range has a 67-layer Japanese steel blade and Pakka wood handle for serious cooks. Whichever you choose, hand wash and dry your knives and cut on a wooden board to keep them sharp.
