Who is Küchenprofi?

Küchenprofi is a German kitchenware brand founded in 1923 by Artur Schmitz in Solingen, Germany's famous "City of Blades". It began by supplying equipment to professional kitchens and now brings professional-style kitchen tools to home cooks. Küchenprofi is still owned by the Schmitz family, and its products are developed in Solingen.

Are Küchenprofi Country cast iron pans suitable for induction?

Yes. Küchenprofi Country frying pans and woks have an enamelled cast iron body with a non-stick cooking surface, and they work on all cooktops, including induction. Cast iron holds heat brilliantly, so it's ideal for searing steak, stir-frying in the wok and getting a golden crust on potatoes.

How do I look after a cast iron frying pan or wok?

Heat your Küchenprofi cast iron pan gradually on low to medium heat, as cast iron holds heat so well that you rarely need high heat. Let it cool before washing, as plunging a hot pan into cold water can damage it. Hand wash in warm soapy water with a soft sponge, dry thoroughly and store it dry. See our guide on how to clean and look after your frying pans for more tips.

Are Küchenprofi Porto baking dishes oven, microwave and dishwasher safe?

Yes. Küchenprofi Porto baking and gratin dishes and ramekins are made in Portugal from high-quality ceramic fired at 1180°C. They're oven, microwave and dishwasher safe, with a scratch-resistant finish, and they go straight from oven to table for lasagne, crumbles, gratins and individual desserts. To protect the ceramic, avoid moving a dish straight from the freezer into a hot oven.
