WMF Pressure Cookers

Pressure cooking is quick and simple once you know the basics:

1. Check it first. Make sure the sealing ring is fitted and the valves are clean and working.
2. Add liquid. Always add at least 250ml of water or other liquid, and never heat the cooker empty.
3. Don’t overfill. Fill no more than two-thirds full, or half full for foods that expand, like rice, grains and dried pulses.
4. Lock the lid. Close the lid securely and choose your cooking setting.
5. Bring it up to pressure. Heat on high until the cooking indicator rises to your setting, then turn the heat down to hold it there. Start timing from this point.
6. Release the pressure. When cooking is done, take the cooker off the heat and let the pressure drop fully before opening. Never force the lid open.

Never leave the cooker unattended while it’s under pressure. It’s designed for cooktop use only, so don’t put it in the oven. Your WMF instruction manual has cooking times and full safety guidance 

After each use, unclip the lid handle and rinse it from both sides under running water. The pot and lid can go in the dishwasher, but take out the sealing ring and wash it by hand. Soak any stuck-on food rather than scraping it, and remove limescale with a little vinegar and water. To protect the sealing ring, store the lid upside down on the pot. Before each use, check the valves and seals are clean and working. Replace the sealing ring if it becomes hard or damaged, using a genuine WMF 22cm or 18cm sealing ring. Your WMF pressure cooker is covered for manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship under normal household use for 5 years . Wear parts such as the sealing ring, safety valve and cooking indicator seal aren’t covered, as they need replacing over time. The warranty also doesn’t cover damage from misuse, using non-genuine spare parts or not following the instructions. Your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act also apply.
